photography class supplies?
Hey everybody. I am taking my first photo class this semester and the professor gave me the list of supplies…but no information really on the best brand or kind to get.
This is a black and white photography class and I need good professional (non C-41) film, RC multi contrast paper, filters…and I think that’s it. I was just wondering if any kind was better than the other. Thanks guys!
Ilford and Oriental are two popular papers. You may want to get your own thermometer … I have found school thermometers can be off up to three or four degrees either way.
You will also need other items, like a good eraser, Xacto knife, cotton gloves, mounting boards (matte board), negative sleeves and a binder. As you get into the course, you will see items that advanced students use you may want to pick up.
I had some problems using the schools Photo-Flo and started using Edwal LFN. One drop in 16 oz of distilled water solved the water spot problems I was having on my film.
