Hi everyone i’ve just started a new photography business, i do wedding photography, location, events, product and corporate does anybody know where i can advertise EFFECTIVELY for really cheap prices, or for free? Please any tips or ideas would be extremely welcome as well. I have started this business on my disability, i have epilepsy and suffer from grand mal seizures. There are a number of people out there waiting, hoping i fail. I DONT PLAN TO FAIL. Please help any information or ideas you have are extremely welcome.
Congratulations on your new business! The best way to promote any business is to find out where your target market gathers and go there. For example, your wedding photography clients attend wedding fairs and go to people who provide other wedding services such as outfitters, car hire, florists. Think about linking up with some of those so that whoever gets the enquiry first refers the bride to the others.
The other types of photography you mention need to be broken down into customer types or niches so that you can target them effectively. For example, we used to photograph a lot of people in the legal sector. Once you have a few under your belt, you can approach others and talk to them about the type of photographs you know they need.
Networking can work. There are a number of groups around, some of them cost more than others. We found it didn’t bring us huge amounts of business but it did bring some.
The main thing is to take it a bit at a time. Concentrate on a niche and work out your plan for reaching the people in it. Set up a programme of repeat contact. Just because they don’t buy the first time you contact them doesn’t mean to say they won’t buy at the second, third or even fourth contact.

Good luck!
