Photography Tips for jewelry?
Hello! I would like to take photos of the jewelry I make and post them on my website. I have taken photos before using a MACRO function and have experimented with light – both natural and flash. The problem is that the slightest scratch on silver powder specifications is magnified 100x and you see the imperfections of the best inconsequential piece as a whole. What simple techniques can be used with a digital camera for a photo complimentary about my work? Thank you very much for your help. You will need lots and lots and lots of light. Put some sunglasses and when bright enough to see everthing then turn down a notch. Good, not really, but get better results when light the subject from all sides. Without seeing the results I can not comment specifically, but it sounds like you coming out of shadows scratches and such. If you can fill out that shadow that used to show much less. You can find much cheaper or make one yourself, but you get the idea. Lots of light and the material is disseminated to all the same as essentually is illuminated from all angles. A pair of white sheets and a few bulbs of 150 watts is all you really need. But if you really want to get a kit are actually quite cheap on ebay and such.
