Learning digital photography in our immediate society is only possible by applying the basic principles of good photography. Digital is another tool and there is no real quick way to do it. BUT … If you are willing to follow these six principles of photography you are quick in learning path fast digital photography. And I mean really fast. So here goes.
1. Choose your topic carefully.
This is the central axis of the photo. Be sure to identify a suitable subject and focus on this. Not negotiable. If the subject is not your photo will be clearly identifiable below average.
2. Place where the subject intelligently.
Divide your image into thirds vertically and horizontally. Imagine 2 lines wide and 2 lines below. When these lines cross in place of the subject of these points. If you have a horizon in the image, aligning it with one of the the 2 horizontal lines.
3. Get closer to your subject.
Most times the issue is what we want remember about the scene you are recording. So as much of it in the photo. This is especially true with family photos. Have small groups of people shot near the camera.
4. Exclude clutter around your subject.
Make sure there are no trees or telephone poles sticking out the top of the head that subject. Unless you want to remember the garbage, bicycles, microwave, or sign, put them out of the scene. Find anything you will not see in 20 years when viewing photos and excludes.
5. Mira your subject from a different angle.
Shoot from above (on the subject) or lower (facing the subject). Find a different angle so the image is unique to give a different aspect more interesting.
6. Change your point of view.
Most people Standing before the full and just shoot away. Getting looking through the viewfinder and find a different position which gives it a more interesting opportunity. Experimenting is the key.
BONUS TIP
Finally, here's a tip bonus. Choose a subject you want to photograph and record 50 different ways. Shoot high, low, left, right, directly above. Please close, turn the camera on an angle, hold the camera above your head. Change your point of view, walk to the area, lie on your back or lying on your stomach. It may sound much but when you try it you will see that is possible. When finished, browse through all the images and you will be amazed at their ability. You will have to find a new and different angle that will amaze your friends and family. Do not worry about the stupid sense, if you want to get that great shot. Follow these basic principles of photography 6 and your photos will improve dramatically and very fast. Within hours that friends praise his great images.
