Good ideas at the local level to promote photography in a small town? Specifically for children, portraits, families, etc?
Looking simple grass roots ways to promote my small photography business. Would you like to do some kind of event that could bring their children, family, pets, etc. to be photographed. Any ideas other promotion? Any good experiences?
A couple of ideas – (a) seize the Humane Society local Animal and see if they would be interested in doing some fundraising where people could come and have their pictures taken with their pets for a small donation the Humane Society (of which you would get a cut or just do it for publicity and hand your card.) (2) I know a guy who did a cool thing as a hobby and ended with a second activity. Go to your local soccer league or minor or football games and several action shots of children and give your card information where parents can view the images. This man created a website where parents can log in and view the photos and then you can order some countries, if wish. He has protected that no one can print only the photos from there (do not know how to do that, but it's worth checking in). In any case, parents love to see pictures of their elite athletes in action and order copies to send to grandparents, etc. Even now has been hired by separate teams to take pictures of equipment and / or take photographs of certain games. It has become big for him.
