Fresh grad need advice for Art / Graphic Design / Advertising job requirement?
I am a graduate studio art major. students. other things I learned at school, such as graphic design, printmaking, ceramics and photography. I have creative ideas and knowledge, but I have no real experience of work (no internship). I am interested in Art / Graphic Design / Advertisting / Merchandiser visual field. I live in Los Angeles. How can I easily get a job? I've been looking at the Monster / CareerBuilder but much lower entry level there. Where can I find more entry level position? Any suggession? please help! THANKS!
I would suggest some things. # 1 – buy the book "What color Is Your Parachute "and read it.'s going to teach the best way to find jobs. # 2 – have a simple web page with your portfolio up and running, and # 3 start volunteering their services and time, while seeking a job. You can put volunteer positions on his resume, which is fine, and you can build your portfolio, at the same time. It is very important to think of himself as a commodity – sell yourself to everyone you know. Networking is very important, which means talk yourself out – and that everyone complies with the knowledge that you are looking for a job. The book I have mentioned go into more detail, and promise that we will one big difference:) Good luck!
