You do not have to necessary spend a load of cash to get the right shot, but it does depend on your style of photography. Are you already into your hobby at a point where you need to upgrade to the next level? If so, then you are more likely to spend more money to improve what you have already achieved. Are you a complete novice and really do not have the cash to spend on excessive equipment? Well, in this case, you will have to come up with a plan to spend lightly on just the necessities. For example, you will not need to spend one hundred dollars on gear you will not use.
So, what are good choices of wedding photography packages? If money is not an issue, that consider upgrading your out of date equipment. Tripods, digital cameras, carrying bags, and straps are a few good examples to consider upgrading. If your business is mostly outside, carry umbrellas, heavy duty gear cases that are waterproof, and jackets. If indoors, have bags with wheels built into them, that way is will be less of a pain to carry a lot of weight around. Again, all this will depend on you and the way you do your business. If money is an issue, purchase only what you need, not what you want. Basic tripod, carry bag, and camera will do. The point is to save and gain money, not burn your wallet.
Just remember not to stress over this. What you should care about is how your photos will turn out in the long run, not what is the best tripod to have.
