Personal Statement Examples Photography
Applying to University?
Hey Im starting to write me personal statement so I can apply for university next year, but I have no idea what to write!
We haven’t been given any examples in college and Im stuck, Ive looked online and the only examples I can find are for the typical subjects.
Im hoping to study photography.
Have any of you got examples of a photography personal statement, OR a link to a site where it has FREE, GOOD personal statements for this subject?

If you don’t know what university is then get off the UK site.
If you’re hoping to study photography, then why not base the first part of your personal statement about what subject matters interest you when taking photographs. Do you have a particular style (eg like taking photos of people, posed or unposed, or close ups of flowers)? Talk about that.
Then talk about the wider reasons why you want to go to university (eg further your knowledge, become more independent, really get to grips with your subject).
Finally talk about yourself – past experiences you’ve had, work experience you’ve got, any outstanding achievements (have you won any awards? Studied a musical instrument? Play on any sporting teams? Help with any charity/volunteer work?).
What the university is looking for in a personal statement is something that tells them something about the kind of person you are, not just why you want to go on a particular course.
