How can I get my mom to understand the art of visual arts, things like dramatic poetry and photography?
Ive tried some to show that she looked at me as if I was mental. that dosent think that art is worth any time. I disagree. i plan to have a career in this feild but she keeps pushing me to be a scientist or whatever = /
My mom is a bit the same. I want to be an interior designer, but she wants me to be a doctor. We fight over a little, and unfortunately, can not understand things. Now that I'm studying interior design is much better. I would suggest doing what makes you happy, because you'll never be a happier person living their dreams. You can also find some biographies on some photographers or artists, and give to it as a gift or something. The best way to melt your heart in that department, however, would find a way to showcase their work to her in a way that she does not expected. Let him see the talent is there and what makes you happy. Not to mention, the brain of art does not really mesh so well with the brain science. Maybe take one of those "who are right or left brain" tests, and show results. He had just said, do not worry about what he thinks and do what makes you happy. If she loves you, get over it eventually, and really loves you, she'll be happy for you. You have to understand though, is just a mom thing. They want to pick something "realistic" and not a fantasy, because "we have to have something to fall again." I just do not always realize how much you can do with art degrees.
