Photography How To Lighting
Photography question, lighting help!?
I got the Nikon d5000 this christmas, and i have one quick question about any type of camera and taking still shots.
Ive been looking around the internet and i see many beautiful still shots of people indoor, like in a house for example.
My goal is to take a still shot indoor, with a very fast shutter speed so i don’t see any blur. Whenever i try to do this the picture comes out super dark, how do these photographers do it!
I bump up my iso but if i bump it up too much the picture becomes grainy.
My question: How do I take a good still shot picture indoors? Do i need a million light fixtures?
Please help me out here
and if you have any good photography tips, im just starting and hopefully i can learn something!
My aperture was on the lowest it could go btw
Plenty of light is important. What shutter speed do you shoot at? You shouldn’t need more than the focal length of your lens (1/20 for 20mm, 1/50 for 50mm, etc.) indoors. Also, if you are in Shutter Priority mode, you might still have the default ISO set to 200. The D5000 gives great results up to ISO 800, good results up to ISO 1600, and usable results up to ISO 3200. Use the on camera flash, or if you need to, invest in a speedlite. Make sure that your aperture is as open as possible.
Indoor lighting is tough. Many of the great shots you see online are probably studio shots, with multiple flashes, diffuser boxes, etc. At the very least, you ought to give this little device a try. It’s cheap, and your built in flash will thank you for it!

I never shoot my built in flash without it
