Photography New Mexico

I am always on the look out for the source material. As I walked along a footpath along the shore of the bay from San Francisco I found a sailboat which had become detached from its moorings and ran aground while the tide was low. I did not know how I would use, but I photographed the ship in any way, and a variety of angles.

About six months after photos of me rough seas off the coast of Marin County (at Rodeo Beach), when I came could compound the sailboat at sea and create an image that illustrates the danger, risk and challenge. It turned out that the sea was not hard enough, so it uses the waves had photographed the creation of a stormy sea. I used a sky that I had photographed years ago in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I stripped the boat, including all the different lines (ropes and cables) using clipping paths in Photoshop. Then the boat hit the waves and uses a layer mask to make it appear the ship is actually in the waves.

Pictures of Roads and brick walls

Recently I have created numerous stock photos, from photos I've "collected" to have on hand for future inspiration. In another case, I decided to create a picture of one of a series of images path taken in recent years. After to open the file in Photoshop used to look through Bridge of a folder of images that have potential to reach. A photo of a brick wall that had fired about months earlier in a neighborhood of Berkeley caught my eye. It was a simple matter of selecting the brick wall and insert it in the table map. The process took about half hour and cost me anything. The result was a picture accepted by Getty in the branding of the Bank.

Picturing Interiors

One thing I'm trying to "gathering" is more of the interior spaces. I shudder when I think of all the interiors I've photographed in recent years and not take advantage of them. Now I do shoot a standard for any area in which I am shooting with an eye toward the use of a compound in the future.

A good example of having an interior space for a side can be seen in a photograph of a woman sleeping happily on a commercial aircraft. In this case the picture I took of an empty seat across the aisle me on a flight from Bangkok was the inspiration. I started with that image and a model hired to pose for me in my study. I was stripped in the seat and put a picture of a blue sky of my files in the window. The result is a picture that has been licensed on numerous occasions as a rights-managed image.

You never know what picture is going to work … or how it will work. An image taken from the roof of an airport became a great backdrop for an astronaut of children. Turned at his side, the roof became the perfect backdrop for a high-tech facility space.

Creating a library of likely and even probable, composite parts, is a key component of my plan. When I find a place or thing likely to try to get a variety of angles and elevations, as I never know how things can go together.
