anyone know how to fix this?? or have an estimate of how much it would cost if i were to get it repaired?
(I Live in Toronto.. and I’m thinking about going to Aden or Henrys to get this looked at)

Also, please don’t tell me to buy a new one.. I would, if I had enough money right now, but i dont :

thank you sooo much in advance!!
Sigh, I knew I would end up having to buy a new one. Thank you!

On a side note.. What are your thoughts about a Fisheye lens?

The Canon 50mm f1.8 II is very cheaply built. That’s the catch of the superb optics at such a low price. Fortunately it is also easy to replace. If you are OK with used lenses, the older generation (Canon 50mm f1.8 I) are actually a bit more durable.

As for fish-eye lenses, it all depends on what type. If it’s under $150-$200, it’s likely to be an add-on lens – one that screws on the end of your lens like a polarizing filter. Beware of these – they have very horrible optic quality, and you will end up with fuzzy photos with chromatic aberrations on everything that’s light in color. It takes more to build a quality fish-eye lens than any other type of lens. If you need a wide-angle lens, I would suggest the Sigma 10-20mm, which delivers decent optical quality for a relatively low price.
