Photography Pricing Sheet

How do you charge for Architectural Photography?

I have the opportunity to do some freelance architectural photography, but I have no idea what to charge my client! The last time I did freelance work, I was on a photography internship that paid $12/hr. I’d hope to be paid quite a bit more now that I actually have a degree…

Here are the parameters:
- Exterior and interior photos of a small apartment complex
- I will provide edited images and contact sheets
- They will print their own brochures, use on web, etc…
- I have a BFA in photography. I’d like to think I know what I’m doing. (I have no problem pricing fine art photos)
- I’m shooting with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi
- It should only take me a few hours.

Should I price hourly? A flat fee?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

A low budget day rate for corporate work in the UK would be around £800 with that rising to about 2k depending on the company etc.

This would include supply of the shots and usage rights.
So 2-3 days work (shooting and editing etc) would give you around £2400 pounds. (got only knows what that is in USD).

If you price hourly then ensure you take into account all the work and you can either build in the usage license or list that separately.jj
