Muslin or canvas?

My wife just opened a photography studio, so I'm trying to get some information on the design and preparation backdrop against pay $ 200 more for them. What is the best canvas drop cloth or muslin? What kind of paint should be used?, Or should dye use? If there is some literature that explains these questions have a head to be nice too.

This response is based entirely on what I know of these fabrics … muslin fabric is thinner than the canvas, and allow more light to pass through it. In some cases it may be slightly see-through Because of the light from behind him but is hanging on the wall. Select the method that gives the expected results based on that, but I'd say it would be better canvas. Also, change the color tint of the fabric, but only serve to block light / less transparent. Paint will make the tissue, especially canvas, fully opaque (heavy and prone to form cracks if the paint is applied wrong). On the other hand, a dyed muslin curtain would probably be a very interesting and attractive scenery. If you can not find books on painting photography backdrops in particular, then craft books on painted floor cloth making at least give the basic elements of painting designs on canvas cloth that we must maintain flexibility.
