Photography Tours Italy
Photographer Starting Out…?
I would LOVE to travel, take pictures, and get paid for it…who wouldnt but i would really like some advice on how to get to that dream. in high school i signed up to go to france, italy, and spain with EF tours my jr year there i found out i have a good eye and have more then just a “woo thats pretty” look on photography. i look at national geographic and feel like crying just thinking of getting any picture looked at by them. can anyone give me tips or help with this?
First of all, stay excited! National Geographic photographers are some of the best in the world – and they didn’t get there by accident.
My suggestion to you is to take some formal photography classes to help channel and polish the passion that you have. You’ll want to take what you learn from those classes to make every time you shoot a little bit better. Practice, practice, practice!
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and don’t get discouraged by any rejections along your path. You’ll learn more from mistakes than you do successes. As you improve, create a portfolio that showcases a variety of your photographs that show your creativity and uniqueness.
I’d also suggest reading the biographies of actual National Geographic photographers here: http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photographers
The biographies above list websites or blogs for many of these photographer and can be contacted for questions, or regularly offer suggestions on their websites.
Good luck and keep your passion!
