Should i take a year off after high school before university to travel?
I am 17 years old and i graduate in June of 2010. For the last i say 7 or 8 months i have been doing hours of research a week looking up what to take in university and what to do as a career. I am constantly changing my mind on what i should do..like i would change my mind every day or sometimes every hour. one minute i want to go into pharmacy the next i want to do photography.
I am planning to take a year off before i go to university and travel around about 6 or 7 months. Finance is not a problem as i have family all over the world i can stay with.
I am just wondering if it is a good idea to take a year off so i can have time to really think so i will make the decision i am truly happy with? Honestly ever since i been thinking about taking the year off i haven’t been as stressed because am not constantly online every night searching up what i should take.
I think taking the opportunity to travel now is a great idea. You don’t have any other responsibilities, you don’t have to return to a job or children, and you apparently don’t have to worry about the cost of traveling. It’s the perfect time to go and really experience life in other places. You should probably give some thought to where you’re like to go to college, so that you can arrange to have transcripts and recommendations sent to those schools while you’re gone. The rest of your application process can be handled via computer from anywhere in the world if you have a credit card available.
