How much is photography for a wedding on average…I know it varies on stuff but just an average.
I am getting married on May 13th 2010. We are paying our photographer $2,453 plus a $500 deposit. The package includes our engagement pictures and bridals and all day wedding coverage and the rights to our pictures and also a 16″ by 20″ canvas wrap print.and a print credit. Does that sound about average??
I’m a professional wedding photographer in New York City and offer packages from $1,999 to $7,999. The price depends on the number of hours, how many photographers, and the size and quality of albums and enlargements.
It sounds like you are getting an upgraded wedding photography package at an average price, so the bottom line is you’re getting a lot for you money!
You can check the average cost of wedding services in your area, including wedding photography, at http://www.CostOfWedding.com and you could also check the prices posted by national photography “chains” like Bella (I don’t recommend them, but it is a good “reality check” for prices).
Good wedding photography requires top of the line equipment, a tremendous investment of time and money to learn artistic technique and technical know-how, and many hours of “post-production” cost and skilled labor to edit, enhance, and retouch images that were created on your wedding day. You will treasure those photographs for a lifetime, and it’s absolutely worth it!
