Sales of Goods Act…returning a bag which was advertised as a different colour??

I bought a bag off of a website (namely, asos.com). It arrived, and upon opening the parcel, the bag turned out to be a slightly different colour to that on their website (I wanted a bone coloured bag, and I got a darker colour of beige). I emailed them and asked if they could check their other bags to see if all the other bone coloured bags were different to that advertsised, or whether in fact I simply had a random bag. The reply I got was that they can not check, and that the colour on the website could appear different to what I recieved due to the lighting and photography used!!

My point is though, on ASOS, you have to pay to return your goods (unless faulty, or if you receive the wrong item), so I was wondering what my rights were, as really the bag was falsely represented. I do not want the bag though as I only wanted it if the colour was going to be that which was advertied – which it wasn’t!

Thanks in advance.

I know what a disappointment that is seeing how I almost did the same thing with a Gucci bag, online its a light beige in store its a DARRKK brown.

Lawfully, you can not do anything besides return the bag.
Somewhere it will state that the color is not true due to lighting when taking the picture and different screen resolutions.
Maybe see if you know someone who is willing to buy the bag or just save it for a gift if you don’t want to spend on shipping it back to them.
Good luck!
