Photography HELP! 2nd Curtain on Rebel XT and mac?
I was taught photography in my arts program at UNI, but on film – I’m a pro in the darkroom!… But a while back I purchased a Rebel XT and I am not as familiar with the digital settings. I have taken some great photos with it, but it seems everytime I pick it up, I get somewhat intimidated (same with trying to figure it out on my own with the manual). I want to take some night indoor (bar etc) photos and I have been reading forums on using the 2nd curtain…. The manual has a small blurb about this, but is not exactly helpful on how to actually do it. Anyone have a step by step?…. Also! I just bought a new mac – I used a burnt version of photoshop on my PC for editing photos and other images, would photoshop still be the best program to use on my mac? or does anyone have any other suggestions?
The Second Curtain, as pointed out before, refers to the timing when the flash fires in relation to the opening/closing of the curtains covering the sensor. However, this function is not available on the built in flash. You need an external flash and then use the flash manual to figure out the instructions.
For indoor photos you might get better results by increasing your ISO settings to 800 and try to use ambient light.
On the second part of your question, if you are serious about photography then photoshop is your darkroom
