Where in the world is a young artist from Hungary is looking for inspiration? First, exploring Italy, France and Germany, three countries with histories of art are among Europe's most influential – from the Renaissance to Impressionism. So, this young artist crosses the Atlantic to America. From the east coast to west coast continues his exploration, leaving roots only when it comes to Arizona, he is beaten by the desert uncorrupted innocence – an innocence that informs his paintings, sculptures metal art and photography for the next 30 years.
At least that is how the contemporary artist found inspiration Laszlo Tihany, and has served her art well. After moving to Arizona in 1978, Laszlo won several first place awards for his photography. Shortly after his metal art began to incorporate the themes of the Southwest, especially in the metal sculptures that soon found its way into nearly a dozen art galleries, from Santa Fe to San Francisco.
However, as celebrated as his work was becoming, Laszlo decided to follow his artistic education by taking classes in sculpture, photography and painting. This dedication to the promotion of himself as an artist, with his impressive body of work, earned the attention of your local PBS station. In 1990, Laszlo presented his work on PBS-TV Tucson, an event that brought his art and its history, the local community.
Four years later, co-founder of Laszlo Designs Linda Colino Picci Arizona artist whose paintings themselves have earned critical acclaim. Theirs is a partnership that continues to this day, mixing contemporary styles, impressionist and primitive. Picci Designs is a contemporary art studio built on a philosophy of art that Laszlo and call Linda "power in simplicity Design "- things that you can see in his captivating whimsical metal sculptures, paintings, photography, tribal masks, clocks and mirrors.
Today Laszlo most like to experiment with abstract art forms of metal that he describes as a playful, spatial flow and release, and symmetry rotation. "I want to give more than an experience of color," he says. "I want my imagination are intertwined with the viewer." Laszlo doubt that achieves with provocative metal sculptures that leave plenty of space for the viewer's own interpretation. This artistic journey embarked on Laszlo Tihany just more than three decades ago is now one that walks hand in hand with those for which his art is an adventure itself.
