Schools Photography Competition
what sort of competitons/grants/clubs for photography/art/fashion/writin g can i do, im 16 years old?
i just turned 16 and soon im going to have to find sixth forms
i want to show my ability with more than grades, because i can struggle in school with deadlines and teachers, so it would be helpful if i had entered some competitions or done some extra curricular activities.
interests are as stated above, and i live in london
goto the local community centre, or adult learnign centre, see if they have a newsletter, or community magazine… if they do, offfer to help.
if they havent, offer to do one.
a long time ago, after i got done with designing takeaway menu’s (we all need to eat) i got involved in a community project. (it was a back door IN, if you know what i mean)
it with todays technlogy, you can do some pretty trick stuff, on basically free software ( open office / gimp) you get thrown in at the deep end, and you ll struggle at times, but overall the effort is worth it.. you get know, doors open, and jobs come your way… and, as i doscovered, its a great free platform for your work, your art, your copy and it ticks all the boxes.
although you wont get paid…its a good investment of your time and efforts. as a yorkshire man would have noted: its all grist to t mill… experience is invaluable.
